Research for change
Caroline has extensive experience of conducting research for policy change, most recently on temporary migrant worker representation and power, the risks of human trafficking for labour exploitation on the UK Seasonal Worker’s Pilot, the US Tariff Act and the Canadian Open Work Permit for Vulnerable Workers.

Innovative strategic solutions to problems
Caroline recently established Scotland’s first ever Worker Support Centre for workers in seasonal agriculture. She co-founded the UK’s leading anti-labour exploitation charity, Focus on Labour Exploitation (FLEX) in 2012. In 2011 she established the globally renowned peer review journal, the Anti-Trafficking Review. She has a track record of designing solutions to global problems.

Technical expertise
Caroline serves as a technical expert to donors, governments and inter-governmental organisations. In this role she has advised on major anti-trafficking programme expenditure and direction. She has helped develop global standards for the anti-trafficking sector and has provided input to a wide range of labour exploitation legislation at the UK and Scotland levels.
